making mud gorgeous. why shouldn't you feather your own nest?

a re-energized office space

before - aside from being disorganised, this office space lacked any style or inspiration.  the position of the desk facing up against the wall was not providing the client with any creative energy!  this is a walk through office nook & has gorgeous french doors that open up onto the garden, so there was loads of potential for nest to unleash our creative juices!
before nest
after -

  • the immediate change was to rotate the position of the desk so that the client could sit & work whilst looking out upon the garden.  this made an amazing difference to the energy of the space!
  • nest suggested the drawers be painted white to match the desk as well as to help open up the space - by simply painting a plain but still solid & usable piece of furniture & perhaps changing handles/knobs is a great alternative to purchasing a brand new piece
  • a new lamp helped bring some light to the dark corner, re-organized files & draws made the space more user friendly
  • an old cork board can be reinvigorated with gorgeous fabrics or wall paper, but this one was simply painted the same colour as the chair (see our nest project page to see the simple before & after chair restyle!)
  • some personal pieces and a vase of fresh coloured flowers on the desk provided the finishing touch - a light, uncluttered, workable office space was created & now the creative juices are running wild!

nest's been!
