footprints in the sand

i took a photograph of my family's footprints in the sand at the stunning Rainbow Beach with the intention of having it printed on canvas.  however the size i wanted it to be was going to be too expensive, so in true nest style i got creative!  i had the photograph enlarged to 60x30 inches in a matt finish as a gloss print would have been too reflective.  i glued it to the centre of a 90x60in canvas. marking with tape a one inch border i glued the entire outside area (edges included) & sprinkled clean sand over the glue to create an effective frame for the photo! i applied the glue with a paint brush as i wanted an uneven rippled sand effect but if you wanted to keep it smooth you could use a spray adhesive for an even effect. a special memory of a family walk in the sand hanging on my wall!
