creating a new look in any room does not have to involve a full renovation or become an expensive project. sometimes all you need to do is think outside the square, work with your budget & use some simple styling ideas!
before - at the moment a full renovation of this bathroom is not in the client's budget, but in the meantime they wanted a nice space to use - and suggesting ideas for a challenge like this is what nest loves best! the lemon wall colour, marbled grey fake-tile-lino wall panelling & the sand floor tile combined with a tatty looking vanity & crooked mirror certainly needed a style-over!

before nest |
- the wall colour was painted with left over colour the client had used in a bedroom
- the fake-tile-lino panelling & wooden railing was painted over with a white gloss enamel & have come up looking like real tiling!
- the mirror frame was painted white & repositioned in a more practical way
- the vanity top was re varnished using a darker walnut stain & the cupboard doors were painted white & new door handles were fitted
- new towel hooks were mounted on the wall, a small white shelf for storage, a couple of photographs & some accessories completed a gorgeous style-over on a budget!

before - another example of a small spend to style over a plain white space. the client brief was for a "classy-beachy loo"!
nest's been! |
- add a small coloured tiled splash back to the hand basin
- an unsightly tiled border was removed & a white wood panel border put in
- the walls were painted with left over paint used by the client in another room
- an ikea mirror was hung above the basin - an oval shape to tie in with the gooseneck tap
- 4 'beachy' frames (that we found for $2 each!) where hung in a row
- a touch of fresh flowers & an easy style-over was achieved!
