before nest
an uninspiring spare bedroom was transformed into a great little boy's space. at nest we love to create fun, colour & style in little nests without using commercial characters, we save Bob & Dora fun for books & dvds! personally created themes are so much more inpirational. although there are some strong colours in this room, the white furniture, natural carpet & walls create a calm fresh & uncluttered feel in the room. not wanting to make the room feel enclosed or smaller we opted for one feature wall colour & fresh off-white on the rest of the walls. pops of red & taupe teamed the room together. the wall borders were made by covering foam board from the craft store with red & white gingham fabric & stuck to the wall with the non-wall damaging stickits. craft wood transport shapes were painted in the same feature blue, red & taupe colours & glued onto the wall border. always fun in a little nest to have a chill out space of cushions to sit & read books & play!
